UPDATE - At this point (10/18) we have as many authors as we think we can manage for the day. If cancellations occur, we will be happy to open the registration link back up. You are welcome to e-mail email@example.com to be placed on the waiting list. Thank you!
Welcome to the second annual Indie Author Day at the Sugar Grove Public Library. On this day we celebrate our local authors, and provide an opportunity for the public to meet writers, ask questions, and purchase books.
Each author will be provided one table, and authors will be spread throughout the Library, foyer and Cafe. Please bring any decorations you desire for your table as well as books to sell. We suggest bringing change as well as using an app like Square as many patrons do not carry cash, just a debit or credit card. We do not have an ATM on site.
The tentative schedule for the day is:
During the day we will have coffee and cookies available for authors and patrons.
11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Author tables open
1:30 p.m. Late lunch for authors (taco bar) - You may bring your food to your author table or wait until after you are done
2:30 p.m . Guest speaker for authors and public
3:30 p.m. Round tables for author discussions (wine will be served)
* The schedule is being finalized, details may change TBA.
This year we will have open tables followed food and discussions so that you do not leave your table or items unattended.
You are not required to attend the luncheon or discussions, and we are very flexible with your scheduling needs.
Please complete the attached form to participate - and please note that submission does not guarantee selection. Materials that will not work well with general public consumption, promote hate speech or topics that incite will not be selected. This event is a wide open event in which all the public of all ages will be browsing and there is not opportunity for contextual disclaimers.
Our goal is to promote and celebrate authorship, strengthen our cultural economy and provide networking connections.
As a reminder - please cross promote this event! Put it on your Facebook, emails lists, or other publicity avenues.
Deadline for submission to participate is 11/2/19. Click this link to access the Author Registration form.
