Curbside Pickup

 

Curbside Pickup Hours:

This schedule is in effect from June 1 – July 9. Beginning July 13, the Library will have Grab and Go limited services.

Curbside will not be available on Saturday July 4th as the Library will be closed for Independence Day.

Monday: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Thursday: 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Saturday: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

How Does it Work?

  1. Log in to your account and place items on hold. Look for items that are listed as "On Shelf" at the Sugar Grove Public Library. OR call (630)-466-4686 to have a staff member put items on hold for you. If someone is unable to take your call, leave a message with your request and email address. A staff member will respond to your request. You can also email us at social@sgpl.org with an order request.
  2. When your items are ready for pickup, you will receive an email or phone call. Please do not arrive for Curbside Pickup unless you have been notified that your order is ready.
  3. Arrive at the Library in one of the designated curbside parking spots.*
  4. Text or call the Library that you are here and pop your trunk. Please remember to bring your phone with you to the Library. If you do not have a cell phone, call before you leave your house.
  5. We’ll be right out to place your items in your trunk!

*If you are arriving by foot or bicycle, contact us when you arrive. We will have a designated outdoor table for contactless pickup.

Surprise Me Bundle (New 6/17/20)

surprise me bundleThis is a great option for those who are not sure what they want, or aren't familiar with using the catalog to place holds!  

We know you miss browsing the library stacks, so we will do our best to select some fun & interesting titles that fit your interests! This form will assist us in helping you select a larger bundle of materials. Please fill out one form per person. 

We will notify you when your Bundle is ready for Curbside Pickup. Please allow 1-3 days for us to fill your bundle.

Library of Wonderful Things Available During Curbside

lwtThis unique collection is now available for pickup during curbside hours. Browse the collection, place a hold, wait for a phonecall, and come pick up some Wonderful Things! 

This includes our Hotspots, pre-loaded Kindle Paperwhites, musical instruments, science equipment, and more!

Important Notes

  • Patrons are limited to 25 materials per Curbside Pickup Order.
  • Only SGPL cardholders may request a Curbside Pickup Order.
  • Only SGPL items are available. The RAILS inter-library loan system is currently suspended.
  • All items can be checked out for 3 weeks and there are no renewals.

Returning Materials

  • The Library is currently “Fine Free for Now” and no late fees will accrue during this time.
  • Fees for lost or damaged items will still be charged to patrons.
  • All items must be returned in the drive-up back or front walk-up book drops and not handed to staff members during your Curbside Pickup Order.
  • Larger items like Playaways and Library of Wonderful Things items can be returned to an outdoor bin when staff are present during Curbside Hours. Please call when you arrive and place your return in the designated area.
  • Items will be quarantined for a minimum of 7 days before processing, and will remain on patron accounts until they are checked in.
  • The Library is currently not accepting book donations. Please do not place donations in our book drops.

Health & Safety:

  • All returns are quarantined for a minimum of 7 days (guidelines set by the CDC and IDPH recommend 3 days for disinfection).
  • Staff report to work only if they (and family members) are healthy.
  • Limited staff members are allowed in the building at the same time.
  • Social distancing guidelines are closely followed.
  • Staff and patrons have limited contact during Curbside Pickup.
  • PPE is provided for staff members. All staff are encouraged to wash their hands frequently. 
  • Workspaces are regularly cleaned with sanitizer.

 Frequently Asked Questions

I returned my items, but they are still on my account. Can you check for the missing items?

For the safety of staff and community, we will check your items in one week after they are returned. Items may show a fee accrual on your account, BUT there will be no fees when they are checked in. We are going Fine Free for Now. This does not apply to lost or damaged items.

Can I return my items? And how?

Yes, our bookdrops are open for returns.  You can walk up in the front atrium area to return your items near the Little Free Food Pantry, OR you can use the back drive-up book return. 

Do you know when the library will reopen? 

The Library will reopen for limited "Grab & Go" service beginning Monday July 13. Our hours will remain the same as Curbside Service. Click here for more information
